Texas Weekend in the Grove

Hotty Toddy!!
Ole Miss v Texas weekend

The Crew is getting back together (minus a few head honchos, but plus a few substitutes!) this weekend in Oxford, Mississippi for the game of the century!  The Ole Miss Rebels are facing off the Texas Longhorns in a match that will live in infamy!

My friend Adam and I took it upon ourselves to declare "shenanigans" this weekend because well knowing our crew, it's only appropriate to declare, and warn everyone around us that there will in fact be shenanigans about the Grove.

and may I add my signature tagline:
"the Grove is a sea of beautiful drunks"

Put on some pink pants and get over yourself

So I've been uber blue all week, not really caring about my appearance, can't seem to forget about my hurting heart, and I just decided that I've had enough of not feeling like my bright, chipper self.  So in honor of "casual Friday" I put on my pink pants and a happy face!

pink khakis $49.95 - GAP
white blazer $29.95- ForeverXXI
taupe canvass heels $19.98 - ForeverXXI
silk polkadot scarf 120 euros- little boutique in Paris
Cole Haan sunglasses $14.99- Marshall's

Oh and we've moved into a rental...pardon the YELLOW room!

Don't Give Up

So I've made the biggest decision of my life thus far....

I love my boyfriend, and he loves me.  But I am at a point in my life where I need to really take a step back and focus on me and see if this is really what I want and need in life right now. I ended our 4+ year relationship this passed Sunday and it broke both our hearts.  I know that this will be the best thing for us in the end, no matter which way we end up going - getting back together or going our separate ways.

Then I found this quote the day after I broke up with him....it got me thinking.

I felt like all I needed was time away from "us" not him, but us.  And really, all I need to do is STOP thinking so much and just live and be and get clarity.  So that's what I'm doing.  I want us to be together in the end but only time will tell.

Paris Countdown!!

I AM LEAVING FOR PARIS IN 8 DAYS!!!!!

I am sofa king excited!! Bartow is flying into Houston Saturday, March 31 around 10:30AM and our flight leaves later that afternoon at 3:30PM...nonstop flight to Paris!

Je suis Meredith. Merci. Comment s'vas? Se vas. Au revoir! *kiss*kiss*.....that's about all I got.

We will be landing in Paris Sunday morning, April 1 around 8:15 AM (it's a 10 hour and 45 minute flight!! aaaah #lunesta)
Here is what we have planned for our Parisian soiree':

Tuesday 3: A dinner cruise down the Seine, just you and Bartow www.calife.com

Wednesday 4: Dinner (me, Bartow and his parents) at La Grande Cascade www.lagrandecascade.fr

Thursday 5: Bartow's brother, Nicholas, comes in for the latter part of the trip; We're going to a show and drink champagne at the Lido @ 9pm, then hitting up some Parisian clubs.

Friday 6: A private 2 hour (afternoon) guided tour of the Louvre, then a 7:30 dinner at "Jules Verne" (which is the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower!!!.....Tour Eiffel)

Saturday 7: Catch the 9AM train to Versailles (which is about a 30 minute ride) to see the Palace, see the musical fountains, the gardens, Marie Antoinette's "Petite Hamau" (pretend village and farm) ride bikes, paddle boats and have fun!!! (Pray for good weather!!!)
Then dinner at "Helene Darroze" (two blocks from our apartment).

Sunday 8: We will take the metro to Notre Dame for a 10 AM Gregorian Mass (Easter Sunday in Paris! Dinner that night at Le Procope (supposed to be the oldest cafe in Paris)

So Lately...

Wow, oops for not updating in a while!!

Since my last update, I've turned another year older. I'm 24 now! Wait, what? Bartow and I celebrated in Oxford at the Ole Miss v LSU game.

If you can't see, Bartow is wearing a boot on his right foot. He broke his toe in half basically in a "clumsy" encounter with the brick steps up to his back door. This kid needs orange cones all around him.

I've been busy planning my sister, Rachel's, bachelorette party!! I'm soooo excited! Austin, here we come! We're renting a cute Austin-chic house, and boating for a few hours Sunday on Lake Travis. That's all I can say about the weekend though. Can't give away too many details... ;)

The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo came and went and since it was my first year on a committee (and I badged!) I was able to frequent the shows with my girls! And I'm ashamed but excited to say that I bought my first cowboy hat, legit one. Yes, I know it only took 24 years for me to do so, but I love it and I am so excited to wear it!!!!

(Notice my badge!!) I love being a Texan
