Career Chic Basics

Sitting indoors behind a desk in front of a computer screen (2 actually) can be tiring on the eyes, mind and, well, hips to be honest.  I try to avoid "Secretary Butt" by wearing heels everyday so it's a little calf work out whenever I get up to walk around.  Intercom systems are great in the office but they get a little too convenient and sometimes I'll end up literally sitting at my desk for HOURS without moving or walking around.  So bad!

So with this outfit, I love because each piece is a "basic" meaning you can wear it all year round and practically with anything!  I splurged a little at Banana Republic but honestly, you get what you pay for!  Every girl needs a good "slim chino" like these...Navy, Khaki, Gray, any neutral color will do.  I've never been a fan of "skinny belts" but for some reason I bought one and I really am so glad I did because it goes great with the top and the pant.  It break up the color blocking, which is kind of going out of style (and to be "too trendy" can really hurt your appearance).  I like to dress in an "expected unexpected" way if that makes sense.  What I wear is basic but it works and I try to make it look a little more polished than a standard "office outfit" (blouse, pant, blazer, done....boring!)
